Nancy E. Blair, born in Barbourville, Kentucky, graduated from Vassar College in 1976 with honors, and received her law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1981, after which she joined the law firm of Cummings & Lockwood in Stamford, Connecticut.
In 1993, she started the law firm Blair & Potts, focusing on providing legal services to individuals in the areas of estate planning, estate settlement, trust administration, and taxation of individuals, trusts and estates. Blair is a frequent writer and lecturer on a variety of estate planning and tax issues and is author of the law and financial planning. She has also appeared as a guest expert on CNBC and other television and radio programs.
Blair has served as an adjunct professor of taxation at the University of Bridgeport School of Law and is a member of the American, Connecticut and Massachusetts Bar Associations. She has also been a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel since 1995. She served on the board of trustees of the Norwalk Connecticut Hospital Foundation from 1994 through 2007, of Union College (Kentucky) from 1993 through 2002 and Berea College since 2003.
